Purchasing a Behringer Electric Bass Guitar

If you are considering purchasing a bass guitar, you have made a good decision. Its incredibly easy to play a bass guitar and is the absolute core to every band. Before heading out and buying the guitar here are some tips to help you make the correct decision:

  • Visit your local music shop, have a play on the guitars and see how they feel. Ask one of the shop assistants what they would recommend for your ability and price range. If you have any friends which are experienced bassists, bring them along

  • Combine the information you learnt from your local music shop with some internet research, look at customer reviews, You tube videos and forums
  • Buying a used bass guitar can save you money and often be just as good quality as a new guitar. Try and test it, or make sure you can get a refund before buying a used guitar

Bass guitars can come with four, five or even six strings. Four string guitars are the most common and easiest to learn. Five or six string bass guitars are for experienced musicians who often perform bass solos. If you’re a beginner this would be unlikely and I recommend you start off with a four string bass.

Owning a Behringer electric bass guitar

Choosing a guitar with or without a fret? Owning a bass guitar with frets makes it easier to play, although choosing a fretless bass produces a unique sound. If you’re a beginner I recommend you choose a bass with frets.

A really good bass guitar which I would strongly recommend is the Behringer electric bass guitar or the Encore EBP-PK40BOFT Electric Bass Guitar they both come with everything you need, including an amp.
